More about our school
St. Elizabeth Integrated Academy was founded in 2008 in Nairobi County, within Makadara Sub-County, Mbotela Estate along Jogoo Road, by two visionary sisters, Presides Kakui and Jane Kakui. What began as a small act of compassion would grow into a powerful story of hope, resilience, and community transformation.
In the aftermath of the 2007–2008 post-election violence, many families were displaced, and countless children were unable to return to school. Education had been disrupted, and for many young learners, the future felt uncertain. Drawing from many years of missionary service, Madam Jane Kakui carried a deep passion for serving and uplifting communities. This missionary zeal, shared with her sister, inspired the founders to respond to the needs around them. They felt a strong calling to act—not only to restore education, but also to rebuild hope, dignity, and stability in the lives of children.
With just seven children, St. Elizabeth opened its doors. In those early days, learning went far beyond books and classrooms. The community was in a period of healing, and the school became a safe haven where guidance, counseling, and emotional support were just as important as academic instruction. Helping children recover, rebuild confidence, and rediscover joy became the true foundation of the institution.
Despite the many challenges facing both the local community and the nation at large, the vision of St. Elizabeth continued to grow stronger. The community rallied behind the school, offering support, encouragement, and belief in its mission. Together, they nurtured a shared dream of rebuilding lives and creating opportunities for a better future.
From this journey emerged the spirit of “Arise and Shine”—a guiding philosophy that reflects the power of rising above challenges and embracing growth, strength, and purpose.
Over the years, St. Elizabeth Integrated Academy has grown from its humble beginnings into a thriving center of learning, dedicated to academic excellence, discipline, and holistic development. From seven learners to a vibrant school community, it continues to shape young minds and inspire future leaders.
Today, the school stands as more than an institution—it is a symbol of resilience, unity, and transformation—a living testament that even in the face of adversity, faith, compassion, and determination can build a brighter future.
